The Rockwall Oratorical Club, now in its fifth year, was created as a ministry to families who had never been exposed to competitive speech and debate in the Rockwall area. The club trains home schooled students specifically for competition in the National Christian Forensics and Communications Association (NCFCA) speech and debate league.
ROC offers Senior level speech and debate for students 12-18 years of age and Junior level speech as well as debate for their younger siblings ages 8 - 11. Seniors members can elect to participate in Interpretative, Platform or Limited Preparation speech events and/or in Team Policy or Lincoln Douglas debate.
As a club we participate in local, regional, and national NCFCA tournament events.
"The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge" Psalm 18:2
The mission of Rockwall Oratorical Club is to train students in public speaking with an emphasis on having a heart for putting God first in all aspects of life. Our core values include: (1) considering others before ourselves in the way we speak and act; (2) having a standard of excellence in the work that we do; and (3) being generous with grace toward others. (Philippians 2:3-7; Colossians 3:12-14; Philippians 4:8; Colossians 3:23-24; Colossians 4:6).
